About MAPP Detroit
Established in 2022, the MAPP Annual conference is a key platform for healthcare experts to collaborate and find out about the ultra-modern advances in vascular and pulmonary embolism treatments. We focus on instructing physicians, citizens, and fellows in dealing with peripheral arterial disease, venous issues, and pulmonary embolism through expert lectures, hands-on training, and simulation with cutting-edge technology.
The convention is led with the aid of distinguished professionals:
- Dr. Tamam Mohamad, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FASNC, FACP, RPVI, scientific Professor at Wayne County College and Co-Director of the PERT application at Detroit Medical Center.
- Dr. Mahir Elder, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FASNC, FCCP, RPVI, medical Professor and board member of the PERT countrywide Consortium, pioneer of Michigan’s first PERT application.
- Dr. George Nahhas, MD, FACC, RPVI, chief of Cardiology at Corewell and President of Venocure, PLLC.
Collectively, they drive MAPP’s mission to develop education and innovation in vascular and pulmonary care.

Tamam Mohamad
Dr. Tamam Mohamad is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at WSU/SOM and a fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist. He serves as Co-Director of the PERT Program at Detroit Medical Center and leads career development initiatives for future physicians.

Mahir Elder
A board member of the PERT National Consortium, Dr. Elder is a pioneer in vascular care in Michigan and serves as Clinical Professor at WSU and MSU. He launched the first PERT program in the state and continues to advance endovascular education.

George Nahhas
Dr. Nahhas is the Chief of Cardiology at Corewell Dearborn and President of Venocure, PLLC. With expertise in PAD and venous disease, he’s board-certified in several vascular and cardiovascular subspecialties and a leader in ultrasound-based diagnostics.
